In June, two bills (one from Raheela Ahmed, one from David Murray) were advanced in PGCPS School Board committees to end memoranda of understanding with PGPD and local police departments in order to remove sworn officers acting as School Resource Officers (SROs) from PGCPS. The issue was tabled until September 17 so that the Board could engage with their constituents and study the issue. But 8 board members voted against even discussing the issue.
